Chair: Dave Cormack (Wenita Forest Products)

Responsible for the Forest Biosecurity Surveillance programme, promotes policies to improve biosecurity, and identifies and provides funding for forest biosecurity issues. Liaises with the Dothistroma Control Committee.

Issues: Forest biosecurity surveillence, forest biosecurity, border control procedures, and overseas import requirements.

Biosecurity Manager vacancy

The Forest Owners Association is recruiting for a new Biosecurity Manager position.  This exciting role has been created to respond to the increasing demands associated with protecting the forests of all commercial growers in New Zealand.

The ideal appointee will have the right mix of technical, science and policy expertise and be capable of leadership on all aspects of forest biosecurity, as well as developing and maintaining key relationships with government and industry.

The Biosecurity Manager will oversee a broad work programme and report on progress to the pan-industry funding body.

The position will be based either in Wellington or Rotorua.
